It's National Breastfeeding Month! August 10, 2022 General National Breastfeeding Month is celebrated every year in August. It is a month dedicated to advancing advocacy, protection, and promotion of breastfeeding to ensure that all families have the opportunity to breastfeed if they wish to do so. This year theme is “Together We Do Great Things!” It's a celebration of the power and impact of our collective efforts. AAP and WHO recommend exclusive breastfeeding starting within one hour after birth until a baby is 6 months old. Nutritious complementary foods should then be added while continuing to breastfeed for up to 2 years or beyond. Let's provide the encouragement, support and the tools for families to reach their breastfeeding goals! Comments are closed.
