January 6, 2022 General Increased Benefits for WIC Families are extended through March On November 2, 2021, Congress struck a bipartisan agreement to extend the increased fruit and vegetable WIC benefits through March 2022. This WIC benefit increase originally went into effect in June 2021. Before the increase, WIC participants received $9 for each child and $11 for each enrolled adult to spend on fruits and vegetables, along with the rest of their WIC food package. The increase in fruit and vegetable benefits aligns the WIC food package with expert dietary recommendations. WIC participants who have already received benefits for January and February 2022 will see the increased amounts on the WIC app on their benefit start date. Monthly Vegetable & Fruit Benefits: $24 each month for children ages 1-4 $43 each month for pregnant and postpartum participants $47 each month for breastfeeding postpartum participants Comments are closed.
